Our Kennel Kru Dogs

Meet our extended family! These are the dogs we have been able to help through donations from people like you. Each one has their own unique story.

Cash

Cash was our very first kennel recipient before we even had a thought about becoming a non-profit. His dad has paid it forward several times and has been a great advocate for our group. We also provided personalized training sessions for Cash and his family so that he could become more part of the family. We also provided heartworm treatment for Cash.

Fido

Fido was our second kennel build, and he is a neighbor to Cash. In fact, they can see each other from their kennels. His owner rescued Fido from a horrible life across the street and has a sister named Jessie who lives inside.

Max

Max was our first kennel build after we officially formed BTCKK. He was also the first recipient of an extended, 20' x 10' kennel. We also provided heartworm treatment for Max. He was the poster child for our group until he unexpectedly passed away in May 2016 after being fed chicken bones. Dr Oliver desperately tried to save his life with emergency surgery but a few days later he passed. His owner loved him deeply and they were best friends for 6 years. 2 months after Max passed his owner saved another dog from an abusive situation - his name is Chuckie who is also featured on our page. Sadly, our beloved Max passed away in May, 2015. He now runs healthy and free at the Rainbow Bridge.

Tank

Tank was the first dog to receive a kennel in High Point. His build was featured in a Fox8 news story. He was abandoned after his family moved away and so the neighbors (his current owners) took him in.

Buster

We discovered Buster on an outreach with Project B.A.R.K. in July of 2015. He had lived on a chain for 4yrs. Buster was our first "digger," so we lined the inside perimeter of his kennel with chicken wire, which stopped him from trying to dig out. We also provided heartworm treatment for Buster. Shortly after we build his kennel he acquired a sister "Coco" who was found as a stray. They were surrendered to the shelter by their owner in August and are now both looking for loving homes.

Sassy

We found Sassy through her owner, who was visiting with Max's owner. Once he saw Max's setup, he asked us for our help. She is the only one we unchained without a commitment of her being spayed because her tether was physically causing damage to her neck. We continue to encourage her owner to get her fixed.

Bumpy

Bumpy came to us through Guilford County Animal Control. They warned his owner about the anti-tethering ordinance, and gave him one of our fliers. Bumpy's owner reached out to us only for installation help as his made enough money to buy him his own kennel. Greensboro News & Record were there to cover his build.

Chino

Chino was a referral from High Point AC. His owner is retired and on disability. She is a wonderful lady that loves her dog. We also provided heartworm treatment for Chino.

Duke

Duke was a referral from Greensboro AC. His owners had him chained because he could get over their fence. He test HW negative but was treated for severe flea allergies.

Ironman

Ironman was a referral from Greensboro AC. His owner was actually ticketed with a tethering fine.

Diesel

Diesel was discovered while we were out on a Project BARK outreach in High Point. We were so happy that his owner agreed to get him neutered and let us build him a kennel to get him off his heavy chain. He is a SWEET boy.

Sheeba

We saw Sheeba a few yards over after we were done building Ironman's kennel. We left our flier on their door and the next day her owner called. She was spayed and shortly thereafter we built her a 10 x 10 kennel as she also comes inside alot.

Jewelz

This sweet girl was a referral from Greensboro AC. She was very scared of us at first but then slowly warmed up towards us. She does come inside alot so she also received a 10 x 10 kennel.

Cash & Elvis

These 2 were also a referral from Greensboro AC. The only reason they were chained is because they got out of their fence. They also lived next to "not so nice" neighbors that would let the dogs out when the owner was away at work. We were honored to be able to help them.

Chuckie

This is the sweet boy that now stays in Max's kennel. He was very sick when Max's owner rescued him from an abusive home. We had him fully treated at Benessere Animal Hospital and now he is doing well. His owner also brings him inside alot.

Cole

Cole's family saw our story in the Greensboro News & Record and reached out to us for help. After she was spayed we were honored to help this inspiring family with her kennel - even Fox 8 was there to film our build. Because Cole's owner Stephanie has MS we also provided them with personalized training sessions since Cole is still a pup.

King & Rosa

These dogs were referred to us by Greensboro AC because one of them kept getting out of their fence. When the owners weren't home they had to be kept in a hot sunroom. They were already fixed and we were thrilled to be able to help with their kennel.

Boxie

Boxie was a referral from High Point AC as he kept getting out of his fence. He has a wonderful owner that was happy to get him neutered. She also brings him in at night and even brushes his teeth.

Hendrix & Princess

We discovered this father & daughter while on a Project BARK outreach when they were both chained to the front porch. After we shared with the owner info about the tethering ban he went ahead and purchased a kennel system for them. However they needed more room and other items so we offered to do an extension and provide them with other items they needed for a better quality of life. We are currently treating both dogs for severe ear infections and skin infections. Luckily both tested negative for Heartworms.

King

King was a referral from Greensboro AC as he also escaped from his fence. VF Corporation actually sponsored his kennel and 7 of their employees help us build his kennel. We also provided 4 personalized training sessions so he would become a more integral part of his family.

Duke & Sparkles

These 2 were referred to us by Project BARK. This husband & wife had 2 litters of puppies and luckily now are both fixed. They were being kept in a 2nd small bedroom as they also would escape the fence.

Katie

We discovered this sweet girl while on a Project BARK outreach. Her owner was very excited to receive our help and made the arrangements right away to have her spayed. She was a crazy dog at the end of her chain but now is relaxed inside her new kennel.

Soko & Kimo

These beautiful brothers were a referral from another BTCKK family. We were so happy to get them off their chains.

Junior & Mama

These sweet siblings were referred to us from their neighbor. Their owner is disabled and was so appreciative of our help.

Buttercup

Buttercup became a totally different girl once off her chain and into her new kennel.

Daisy & Deuce

This brother & sister were such a joy to work with.

Lady, Cain, Oreo

This was our first family with 3 dogs and our last recipient of 2016. They were referred to us by their neighbor. Thank you to Happy Tails Emergency Clinic for sponsoring their kennel.

Sambo

This handsome boy was our first kennel recipient of 2017. He was referred to us by neighbors. This is the 3rd family in the same block that we have assisted. Thank you to the Carden family for sponsoring his kennel.

King

King of HP was referred to us by another owner. He was very boisterous at the end of his chain but once he got into his kennel he was a totally different dog. Thank you to the Pope family for sponsoring his kennel.

Prince

Prince's dad came over and asked for our help when we were across the street unchaining Oreo, Cain and Lady. One of the sweetest families and dogs we have assisted. High Point Enterprise was there to feature our build and story.

Lisa

Lisa was referred to us by Animal Control. Her kennel was sponsored by Char7Bar in Greensboro and their GM Amy even came to help build her kennel.

Crystal

Crystal was discovered during a community outreach living on a very short chain but does come in at night. She is now fully vetted and her owners are so appreciative.

Lady

Lady is a beautiful 9yr old Rottie who was found to be HW positive. She was referred to us by another owner whose dog we unchained. Her kennel was sponsored by Northwood Animal Hospital.

Socks, Lady & Shy Baby

These 2 beautiful dogs in Greensboro were referred to us by Animal Control. Socks had lived on a chain for 8 yrs (also HW+). His beautiful 11 month old sister is the first German Shepherd we have assisted. Their kennel was sponsored by Rice Toyota.

Cobra

Cobra was a referral from a few doors down. Sweet boy whose mom really loves him.

JoJo

JoJo is owned by a wonderful couple in their early 70's. He was also referred to us by a neighbor that we assisted. JoJo was in desperate need of medical care which thankfully we were able to provide.

Samson

Samson was referred to us by Animal Control. His new owners found him as an emaciated stray that seemed to have also been abused. He now has a family that loves him dearly.

Caynan

Caynan was referred to us by Animal Control. He was spending alot of time in a wire crate on the front porch as his owner couldn't tether him. His life has changed dramatically since we came into the picture thanks to his owner who wants to give him a good life but lacked the education and resources.

Ruby

Ruby was referred to us by AC. She was chained in the back yard because of medical conditions her owner faces. After learning that it is against the law to tether your dog, her amazing owner did whatever she needed so Ruby could come inside. However she needed a safe place to be when outside especially after being attacked by 3 dogs 2 weeks prior to our build.

Lilly & New York

These 2 were referred to us by Animal Control. They did not live at the end of chains but were getting out of their fence from the corner lot they live on.

Hershey & Snickers

These 2 goof balls were referred to us by Project BARK. Their kennel was falling apart and they desperately needed a new one.

Cody

Cody was referred to us by HP Animal Control. He is a very affectionate boy. His kennel was sponsored by Wine & Design Greensboro.

Lady

This pretty girl lived on a chain because the landlord won't allow her family to bring her inside. Her kennel was generously sponsored by Libby Hill Seafood Restaurant.

Pugsy

10yr old Pugsy has lived on a chain most of his life. He was referred to us by animal control. His kennel was sponsored by the Gullet family. Cub Scout's built his dog house.

Man

This handsome boy was referred to us by animal control. His kennel was generously sponsored by "Friends of Thirsty's 2"

Charlotte

This family was referred to us by Project BARK. Her kennel was generously sponsored by high school senior Justin Scott.

Chaos

This family was referred to us by AC. Their kennel was generously sponsored by Shannon & Jack White in memory of their son Shane.
